School day

TIMES OF THE SCHOOL DAY

Nursery: 8.30am - 11.30am
Infants & Juniors: 8.55am - 3.30pm

Nursery operates a flexible start between 8.30am and 9.00am so that children can come in with their parents/carers and make sure they are settled.

Infant and Junior children should arrive ideally a few minutes before school starts. We do not have any facilities to supervise children before the school day starts.

At 8.55am the bell rings in school and staff will come out to line up the children in their classes. This replicates what we already do at the end of break and lunchtimes. The class teachers will then lead their classes into school. In the interests of safeguarding we ask that parents do not accompany their children into the building. Teaching assistants and our Learning Mentor are present should parents ish to pass on any important information to the class teacher.

Both sides of school have a late book for children arriving up till 9.10am. Beyond this time any child arriving late should be brought to the main school office on the Junior site. Infant children will then be taken to their class by a member of the office staff.

It is vital that children are on time for school so that they; setttle down quickly, do not feel stressed about coming in late and disturbing the class and they do not miss important learning. Persistent lateness has a major impact on learning and school works closely with Knowsley's Attendance Service to monitor and target lateness.
