Sports and Physical Education.

We strive to, most importantly, make sure that the children at St. Gabriel’s thoroughly enjoy and want to take part in Physical Education Activities. All children take part in at least 2 sessions of P.E. each week. We have also introduced Commando Joes and ‘School Sports Partnership Coaches’ who greatly assist the school in developing lessons and running afterschool clubs with multiple classes across the school. This year we have also renewed our partnership with Everton In The Community and Children’s University to again support and promote the benefits and enjoyment that quality sports and team work can bring.

We have greatly extended our involvement in local school sports competitions over the last 12 months and have provided some details of our successes in these in the link below. These competitions and the overall organisation of Physical Education within the school will be continually monitored by our PE Co-ordinator Miss M Bushell (Deputy Head.

A further document that you may find helpful is the one referring to the school’s Physical Education strategy, as this area of the curriculum is due for a big reform within the next 18 months (2017). Within the link there is also details of our P.E. funding, spending and current time allocations.

Sporting Success!

What a year it has been for our sports teams upto now! We are over the moon with their sportsmanship and success. Most recently, our Year 4 girls took part in a school 5-A-Side football competition...and WON! Our amazing girls were unbeaten in all their games and showed a great Christian attitude of Friendship and support.

Earlier in the term our mixed Year 5 and 6 team also WON the school's basketball competition!

We are so immensley proud of all their efforts and can not wait to take part in more competitions in the future.
