Curriculum.

We are extremely proud of our newly adapted St. Gabriel’s Curriculum. We decided that the most effective way to approach the new National Curriculum was to re-think our previous approaches. We are now teaching Maths to a higher level within each year group to meet the expected requirements and we have also changed our approaches to teaching writing and promoting the independency of writing within school. Each year group also now has a full curriculum year mapped out for them with an exciting topic based question for them to investigate, answer and learn through incorporating a cross-curricular strategy.
We have provided links below that allow to access the new curriculum maps so that you can see what themes/topics will be investigating. There is also a links to how the questions link to writing ideas and how these writing ideas link to the genres that need to be covered within each of the Key Stages (1 and 2)

Maths Curriculum

As a church school we use the Liverpool Diocese Scheme for Religious Education for the basis of our R.E. curriculum.

Our school uses Read, Write, Inc. as its phonic scheme in Key Stage 1.

If you would like further information about our curriculum please speak to your child's class teacher initially. For further details please speak to Miss Bushell (Deputy Head Teacher), Mrs O'Connell (Key Stage 1 lead) or Mr Glanvill (Key Stage 2 lead).
